When Bruce Lee introduced his signature style of martial arts to the world, he did so in his own backyard.
“He never had more than twelve students at a time,” says Sifu Mark Stewart- founder of International Jeet Kune Do and pupil of Bruce Lee’s closest friend and protégé, Ted Wong. “It was, is and always will be very much a ‘backyard style.’” Considering that 38 years since his death, Bruce Lee remains one of the most iconic figures associated with martial arts, many people find this hard to comprehend.
