A second, longer trailer has been released for upcoming martial arts drama THE KARATE KID, starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan in a remake of the 1984 family classic.
It continues to look good with increasing potential to be Chan’s best Hollywood production to date. I still have issues with the misleading title but it appears that Sony is determined to stick with the original even though what Smith is being taught in the film is kung fu/wushu.
HONG KONG : Renowned comedy film-maker Stephen Chow will begin shooting his new film “Tai Chi” which features prominent Hollywood stars Jack Black and Anne Hathaway in the United States in June this year, said Hong Kong media reports.
The Hong Kong actor-director had been very quiet after releasing “CJ7″ in 2008 and even pulled out from the high-profile “The Green Hornet” due to unspecified reasons, but his upcoming film “Tai Chi” looks set to make a splash in Hollywood.
The Legend of Chen Zhen (精武风云 ) is an upcoming 2010 martial arts film directed by Andrew Lau. The film is a continuation of the 1995 television series Fist of Fury, with Donnie Yen reprising his role as Chen Zhen, a role made famous by Bruce Lee in the 1972 film Fist of Fury. The Legend of Chen Zhen is set during Japanese-occupied Shanghai, seven years after the events of the series. Principal photography for the film had began in November 2009; it will be released theatrically in Hong Kong on 1 October 2010.
