Iran Wins 3 Golds at Asian Junior Wushu
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian wushu athletes snatched three gold medals at the 5th Asian Junior Wushu Championships underway in Macau from June 7-9.
Iran’s Maryam Esmati won the third gold medal for the Iranian squad after chalking up 75.8 points at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion in Macau on Monday. Athletes from Singapore and Malaysia placed second and third respectively, with 64.8 and 60.8 points.
On Sunday, two other Iranian nationals, Rahim Mousavi and Mahsa Dehghan, won the first two gold medals.
According to press tv, wushu, also known as modern wushu or contemporary wushu, is both an exhibition and a full-contact sport derived from traditional Chinese martial arts.
