Only The Best for National Wushu Meets (M’sia)
360 wushu exponent, who are the cream of the crop from Malaysia had competed in this year’s Da Ma Cai National Wushu Championships, held at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium in Cheras on Aug 22-24.
They compete in three disciplines – taolu (barehands and weapons), traditional taichi and sanshou (Chinese boxing).
I have attached 2 video clips found on youtube that show case a superior performance of new style sports wushu from our neighbouring country.
Singapore is seriously lacking behind from the sports wushu scene.
From the video, we can see that they had already moved from the old fur carpet to the new spring board carpet that was used and still using by the China some 10 years ago. Whereas in Singapore, we are still eating the green and red fur.
I would really urge the MCYS, SSC or any sports governing body to seriously look into the operation of our Singapore Wushu Lion and Dragon Dance Federation.

Only a handful (maybe less) of our so-call elite team had been train in some form of new style sports wushu. Only a handful (maybe less) of our so-call international judge are trained in the field of new style sports wushu judging.
The local wushu scene still stuck at 3 duan, 4 duan, 5 duan and standard compulsory routines. And the local coach are fighting with one another for top placing on such back dated routines and on the other hand trying to keep the parents of the exponent to think that their kids are the best?!?!
It will really be the end of road for local sports wushu if SWLDF still function as ……… (you fill in the blanks).
Go Team Singapore??? I really don’t have the heart to shout out loud.
