MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Olympic Committee will help bankroll the country’s stint in the first Asian Youth Games if the Philippine Sports Commission turns down its request for financial aid for the RP delegation to the June 27 to July 7 meet.
“We cannot allow the PSC to interfere and manage the affairs of the POC in the Asian Youth Games,” said POC president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Wednesday after the POC general assembly.
The “Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Anti-Doping Seminar 2009″ will run from 14 to 18 February. Organised by the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) and the Singapore Sports Council (SSC), the seminar is supported by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA).
For the first time in Indonesian sports history, Jakarta is no longer the sole place for the national training camp after the National Sports Committee, or Koni, announced eight provinces were ready to host athletes before the 2009 Southeast Asian Games.
